We just started Hollow's Last Hope which is a great adventure module by Paizo.  This FREE module is a great example of what to expect from their other modules and scenarios; I've ran a number of them and they are all outstanding.  Anyway...

I give you.. Falcon's Hollow!

"The small village of Falcon’s Hollow is a wild place. Nestled in the shadow of Droskar’s  Crag, the people of Falcon’s Hollow are hearty and stern. Theirs is a life of hardships, broken only occasionally by a handful of festivals and the infrequent merchant caravan. They face constant adversity from both the wilderness and the wiles of man. Wolves nip at their heels and cutpurses ply at their pockets. It is a testament to their strength that they even manage to survive at all."

"Perched at the edge of civilized lands, the small town of Falcon’s Hollow has always had to rely on itself to solve its problems. Meanwhile, the uncaring lumber barons squeeze the common folk for every last copper, deaf to their pleas. Now the hacking coughs of the sick are heard throughout town. The plague has come to Falcon’s Hollow and the town’s leaders can’t be bothered to stop it."

You truly are Hallow's Last Hope....

Dave Graffam's Models:  some of his old free building models.

We spent most of this game session role playing in the village and at the near by lumber camps.  Then finished up with a combat encounter in the forest.  There is much roleplaying to be had in the village and it was a lot of fun for the RP junkies; there was also plenty of RP in the lumber camps.  Lots of skill checks along the way focusing on diplomacy, intimidation, and bluffing.  However once the real adventure is afoot it turns to a lot of combat encounters out in the forest and eventually in the ruined dwarven monestary.

Our would-be heroes stormed Droskar's Crucible in search of the final ingredient to cure blackscour taint.  There were sevral small skirmishes with darkmantles, skeletons, and spiders.  Lots of roleplaying drama between some characters; mostly over loot... but it was a matter of principle! =)  The big show down was with Graypelt; a worg who claimed the abandoned dwarven monastery as his warren.  It was a tough fight and several characters were a few bites away from death by the worg and his pack but he finally fell to the onslaught.  Making their way out with their bounty of ironbloom mushrooms and sparkly loot there was one final encounter with a pesky kobold who had been tailing them the whole night.  A well placed spell to find him and perfectly aimed  flaming crossbow bolt rendered him into a smouldering mound.

Back at Falcon's Hollow they met up with Laurel at Roots & Remedies.  She said they made it back just in time since over 30 people had died.  Had they taken one more day the town would have greeted them with a lynch mob!  After paying everyone the agreed upon payment she set out brewing cures.  In the coming days the town came to recognize the group as saviours of their humble town.

During the course of Act3 the druid was using detect magic and narrowing down on a small, faint, source of magic.  However the cleric actually got to the item first via a secret door while the rest of the party was debating over who should get some magic cross-bolts they just found.  The druid wasn't happy because they called DIBs on it but the cleric actually got to it.  So the druid cast entangle far enough away so that it would entagle just them and here we have a movie of them rolling their reflex saves to see who gets entangled.

The cleric rolled first and got a 3 but then everyone hoots and hollars when the druid rolled a 1.  There was lots of fun role playing drama between these two characters all night.  =P

Here's some more in-game video.
