The party continued it's battle this last Monday night against "a horrible
creature seemingly drawn from a lunatic's nightmares with eyes and toothy mouths
opening and closing all over the creature's doughy body," and there were two
of them!

After a more than 8 round slugfest with the party unable to score a big hit and
the monsters only able to nickel-and-dime the party damage-wise the Heroes of
Woodcliff finally prevailed. They discovered a couple of chests up on a ledge in the
room, so it appears the Gibbering Mouthers were just guards for someone's treasure.
Mithkin the rogue worked his magic, his subterfuge skills that is, disarmed a trap and
popped both locks easily. Much silver and many gold pieces were found with several
items such as; a driftwood-hafted cold iron raiding axe +2, a copper-linked azurite
anklet adorned with a series of bells (+1 Subterfuge), a sigil-etched wide silver armband
(unknown magical properties),  a scepter capped with a fist-sized flaming-red ruby
(flaming sphere spell) amongst other items.

The party made a hasty retreat back to town with their loot and spent two days
recovering and resting. There was much rejoicing...

On the third day they returned to the caves and carefully made their way back towards
the areas unexplored by themselves. Following a new passage they turned a corner and
discovered a door. Mithkin checked the door for traps while Grey, the Elven Cleric, listen-
ed for any noise. Mithkin declared there were no traps and Grey announced there was no
noise coming from behind the door so they opened it up to...

...Two soldiers were seated behind a table on a dais in front of them. They half-stood,
and half-sat in their chairs, startled by the party's appearance. Grey began preparing her
"enthrall" spell and asked the others to buy her some time (since it would take a round
for the spell to take affect). In the meantime one of the soldiers jumped from his chair and
circled around the table towards Mithkin, swinging his drawn longsword, but missing. The
other soldier still only stood/sat, very much uncertain of what was going on. Malkor the
Dwarf positioned himself between the confused soldier and the party and waited for Grey's
spell to go off.

And go off it did! The soldier behind the table sat back down and smiled at the party
while the olther soldier lowered his longsword to the floor and mumbled apologies for, "not
recognizing you all." The party smiled back at the soldiers and then began to ask some friendly
questions about the cave area they were in...

...and next time we'll find out what answers they get! What deviousness could be going on here!?
Why is the place so clean!? What other evilllll lurks within this place!?

 - Anyone out there interested in playing too? We play Monday nights, 8pm est. - 10pm est. on Google Hangouts -
