During tonight's game, I was thinking about how I hate zombies(undead) so much, even though I love them.  I also was going through the myRPG character icons, and noticed the Marines one.  Then I had an idea, there were some folks who wanted to do some M20 modern, and others who just wanted to get their chops into myRPG and whatnot.

I'm a video game design and development major, so I've thought up a lot of ideas for games.  One of those was DEADWATCH, a squad RTS/shooter about elite special forces sent in to stem the tide of a zombie apocalypse/outbreak in 'The City'.  This could correspond well with the slick action of M20 Modern, so I'm offering up this chance for anyone interested.

I'm putting it down as a one-shot because I'm in a game on Monday and run a game on Wednesday, and the rest of the days are packed up just as well.  But I can spare time for a one-shot, and hey, if it's popular, maybe it could be a monthly thing or I can find some time to run it.  But anyways, that's my idea.  Feel free to add your two cents.

I'm in.

I want to see what we can do with M20 Modern to make it fly like M20 fantasy.

Righteous.  I'd probably use all the in-system stuff to generate the Zombies/NPCs, so we can use the DC checker and Combat Simulators and whatnot.  The way I see it, every zombie would have different stats because they're all different individuals.

And this is how I see the zombies working: on a successful attack from a zombie, I'll secretly roll a 1d8.  On a 1-2, the victim is inflicted and will turn, on 3-4 the character is ill but not inflicted, and on a 5-8 the character just takes the damage.  There is no cure for the zombie virus, barring death.  I'll PM the victim with the roll result, so you can be 'that guy' who doesn't tell anyone you got bit.

It would be interesting to see if the players are willing to kill another if they become infected...

Also, if it ran monthly, it would give me time to make some sweet maps and such.

UPDATE: I'm still up in the air over using the Microlite20 Modern rules found in the M20 Collection, or Domino's Microlite 20 Modern-Day rules.  I guess it's up to the preferences of everyone, because I'm fine with either-or.

I'd like to participate as well. Been out of the game for a while, got a few books and I'd to use M20 to get rid of some of the rust. Funny thing is M20 was my first game.

2 in 8 is a pretty big risk of infection. Will the Zombies have a hard time hitting or are we going for a lot of character turnover? No problem by me, just checking. PS, I want to be a magnificent bastard. "Hey, you have something on the back of the head. Yeah, what? Take it off. Mmmm, bwains."

I'd say we go with M20 Collection rules.

I wouldn't mind a monthly game although I was itching for something a bit more frequent.

I'm up to changes in the infection rules.  I'd like the game to have a 'gory realism' feel.  Maybe the 2 in 8 can be for NPCs.  The only reason I'd shoot for a monthly game is that I'm currently in a Monday night game, and I run a Wednesday night game, so I'd be hard-pressed to keep everything organized and under control.  Of course, I'd expect the sessions to run longer than normal.  You'll get more bang for your buck so to say.

I've been tinkering with the Combat controllers and whatnot in myRPG, so I feel pretty confident about that part.  Now I just have to get the character creation store thing going, because I made up a bunch of weapons and armor you can choose to get at the beginning.

No need to change the infection rules, I'm just trying to see what kind of game you're shooting for. I'm fine with gory especially if we can generate a new character.

Don't sweat the schedule, I'm just excited to come here and find a game being planned.

MyRPG? What's that? Did I miss anything while I was gone?

Sorry Luís, haven't checked this post in a while.  MyRPG (http://myrpg.ca/) is where Crose's Monday night and my Wednesday night games are being held.  It's an online platform with dice rolling and a lot of new goodies from a recent update.  It also handles character creation and everything for us.  DEADWATCH will also play-out as a bit of a show model for myRPG, since I plan on utilizing all of its features to the fullest extent.

How does everyone feel about a weekend game?  Mostly because I want to give the DEADWATCH session a little more time, being a one-shot and all.  If it catches on, I'll work out a good schedule for it.

That's what I like to hear Grin.  I'm gonna shoot for...*finds calendar* Feb. 5th, hopefully 5:00PM to 10:00PM EST.  If anyone needs me to become more flexible with the schedule I'll try my darndest.  Optional: I'll probably be logging in this weekend to add things and test out character creation and stuff.  If you want to make your characters or want to go over the myRPG systems, I'll be happy to oblige.  Just post it up here that you're interested and I'll try to make myself present (just keep in mind I'm on an EST schedule and the weekends are my sleeping-in days Wink )

February 5th, that's a Sunday right? I think that's Superbowl Sunday, otherwise I would be there. Any other Sunday night is usually fine.

Maybe Sunday nights coul potentially be the gaming round-robin night?

Yeah, that kind of put's me out if we put in specific hours. I thought we were foing something like the werewolves game a while back. Sure posting during Sundays would mean we got to see people doing their thing but that's a bit out of my time frame.

You guys go on and play, I'll watch.

Yeah, totally forgot about the Superbowl.  What other days are good for you guys?

UPDATE: Luís, could you elaborate on this werewolf game you were talking about?  I'm not familiar with it.  My plan was to set this game up and run it like a normal game.  Do you have any other ways of playing it?

Okay yeah, I see what you're saying.  Unfortunately, my plan for DEADWATCH was a sit-down session over myRPG, not a play-by-post.  Maybe I can arrange something like a 'Survivors Tale' that runs parallel to the DEADWATCH campaign, where you're a normal civilian trying to escape the city.

That would be awesome. I've tried IRT playing online and I'm really not a fan.
